Philadelpia Freedom (ver. 1) by Elton John - Piano Sheets and Free Sheet Music

About the Song
"Philadelphia Freedom" is a song released by Elton John (as "Elton John Band") as a single in 1975. The song was one of John's numerous number-one U.S. hit singles during the early and mid-1970s, which saw his recordings dominating the charts. The song was written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin as a favour to Elton's friend, tennis star Billie Jean King. King was part of the Philadelphia Freedoms tennis team. The song features orchestral arrangements by Gene Page. The B-Side was a live version of "I Saw Her Standing There" recorded at Madison Square Garden in 1974 and sung by John Lennon, who joined Elton John on stage during the Thanksgiving Night concert in New York City. The B-Side is credited to The Elton John Band, but, because of the Lennon vocals, under the song title, the record label states, "Featuring John Lennon." This song plays in Philadelphia's Franklin Institute Imax Theater.    Download this sheet!

Some of the characteristics of John's musical talent include an ability to quickly craft melodies for the lyrics of songwriting partner Bernie Taupin, his former rich tenor (now baritone) voice, his classical and gospel-influenced piano, the aggressive orchestral arrangements of Paul Buckmaster among others and the on-stage showmanship, especially evident during the 1970s.
