About the Song
"Dedicated to the One I Love" is the name of a song written by Ralph Bass and Lowman Pauling. Bass and Pauling were members of The "5" Royales, the group that recorded the original version of this song. A version by The Shirelles was a minor hit for them in 1961. The "5" Royales saw a re-release of their own version chart at #81 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1961. Later that year, The Shirelles re-released their version and watched it rocket up the chart to #3. A subsequent remake by The Mamas and The Papas released on the Dunhill label went to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1967. Lead singer on the Mamas and the Papas version was Mama Michelle Phillips. It was the first time Phillips was given the lead over Mama Cass Elliott in any of their songs. In 1972, The Temprees placed their version on the Hot 100 at #93. Bernadette Peters recorded a Hot 100 hit version in 1981, reaching #65. One other.    Download this sheet!

By doing so, he was instrumental in helping to shape their careers. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991 as a non performer.[1] As a young man Bass visited the South and personally experienced the emotional power of black music in dance clubs. And if you are a keen observer, you will notice that there are many types of circles associated with the piano music sheet language. Sheet music belonging to the instrument piano also consists of incomplete circles connected together by one or a collection of lines. Plus there are other symbols which will appear totally strange to you. So what are they all about and what do they mean? (More...)
