"Perfect" is the fourth and final single taken from Simple Plan's debut album No Pads, No Helmets... Just Balls. The song deals with the pressures of trying to be the perfect child simply for the sake of making your parents proud but then deciding that it is not worth it. It also talks about being made to feel inadequate because you do what makes you happy. Both the song and the video contrast the difficulties of meeting parental expectations and self-determination. The acoustic version of the song was featured on the soundtrack of the comedy film Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen which Lindsay Lohan stars. The song was also featured on the game Karaoke Revolution Volume 2, and also on the original Disney Channel movie, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen with Lindsay Lohan. Simple Plan is a French Canadian pop punk band based in Montreal; Quebec. The band has released three studio albums: No Pads; No Helmets...Just Balls (2002); Still Not Getting Any... (2004); and Simple Plan (2008); as well as two widely marketed live albums: Live in Japan 2002 (2003) and MTV Hard Rock Live (2005).Simple Plan began in 1995 with the formation of a band named Reset by friends Pierre Bouvier; Charles-Andr Chuck Comeau; Philippe Jolicoeur; and Adrian White.Reset toured around Canada with bands such as MxPx; Ten Foot Pole; and Face to Face; but only managed to gain modest popularity.
