"Angels" is a song written by Irish songwriter Ray Heffernan and tweaked by Guy Chambers who added the piano intro, for Robbie Williams, originally performed by Williams, and covered by Jessica Simpson, Mexican singer Yuridia, singer Beverley Knight, in Italian (as Un Angelo) by Patrizio Buanne, All Angels, singer Declan Galbraith as well as Verena Von Strenge's latest group, Moon Dust, and American Idol season 7 runner-up David Archuleta. The original recording by Williams proved to be his greatest commercial success, being certified 2x Platinum in the United Kingdom and selling 2 million worldwide. In October 2006 the RTE documentary This Note's For You, presented by Tom Dunne, said that the song was originally written by Irish singer Ray Heffernan who played the first recorded version for Williams.
