"Wait for Sleep" is the seventh song from the album Images and Words by the American progressive metal band Dream Theater. The song was written by the former band member Kevin Moore and it consists of a duet between a piano (played by Moore) and vocals (by the current vocalist James LaBrie). It is played in E minor and has a very calm feeling to it, in syntony with the lyrics theme, a woman trying to deal with her fears as she waits to fall asleep. The song was written about a friend of Kevin's who was going through a hard time and doubting her faith.
