"Miss Murder" was released on April 24, 2006 with the U.S. release of Decemberunderground on June 6, 2006. It was the band's first US Top 40 hit in their fifteen year career and their first #1 on the Modern Rock chart. The song ranked at #15 on Rolling Stone's "The 100 Best songs of 2006". The song is also featured in Guitar Hero III. The single was released to three separate radio stations on April 13, 2006. Several audio stream rips appeared on a fan-run site that had gained exclusive permission from the band, but they have since been removed from the sites since the song's release to digital retailers such as iTunes.[citation needed] This song also features a director's cut version which is an extent of the song from the beginning to the where the bass guitar begins playing.
