Claire De Lune (ver. 1) by Debussy - Piano Sheets and Free Sheet Music

About the Song
Claire de Lune is the third movement from the Suite bergamasque which was first composed by Debussy around 1890, but was significantly revised just before its publication in 1905. The Suite bergamasque (French pronunciation: [bɛʁɡamask]) is one of the most famous piano suites by Claude Debussy. Debussy commenced the suite in 1890 at age 28, but he did not finish or publish it until 1905, when he was 43.It seems that by the time a publisher came to Debussy in order to cash in on his fame and have these pieces published, Debussy loathed the earlier piano style in which these pieces were written. While it is not known how much of the Suite was written in 1890 and how much was written in 1905, we do know that Debussy changed the names of at least two of the pieces. "Passepied" was called "Pavane", and "Clair de lune" was originally titled "Promenade Sentimentale." Claude-Achille Debussy.    Download this sheet!
About the Artist
Claude-Achille Debussy (French pronunciation: [klod aʃil dəbysi])[1][2] (August 22, 1862 – March 25, 1918) was a French composer. Along with Maurice Ravel, he was one of the most prominent figures working within the field of impressionist music, though he himself intensely disliked the term when applied to his compositions.[3] Debussy is among the most important of all French composers, and a central figure in European music of the turn of the 20th century. He was made Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur in 1903.[4] His music is noted for its sensory component and how it is not often formed around one key or pitch. Often Debussy's work reflected the activities or turbulence in his own life. His music virtually defines the transition from late-Romantic music to 20th century modernist music. In French literary circles, the style of this period was known as symbolism, a movement that directly inspired Debussy both as a composer and as an active cultural participant. Claire de Lune is the third movement from the Suite bergamasque which was first composed by Debussy around 1890, but was significantly revised just before its publication in.

Music sheets - what is all about? Back in the 19th century, songs in the United States were popularized by musicians through music sheets. It was only in the 1950s when musicians started to bring music sheets to bands so they could play, allowing more people to hear their compositions. Simply, a music sheet is musical composition in printed form. It is composed of unbound sheets of paper where a musical notation of a song is printed. Many associate it with popular music. However, musicians say popular songs are not the only ones written down on paper. Many classical songs were published in music sheets and classical musicians performed even unfamiliar songs with these printed compositions.  (More...)
