About the Artist
Sid Wayne was a song writer, lyricist and composer who wrote a number of well-known songs in the 1950's-'80's. He worked closely with Ben Weisman and Dolores Fuller. Almost every Elvis Presley movie feature contains one or more works written in partnership by Sid Wayne. His most known works are "See You In September" written with Ben Weisman, "It's Impossible" plagiarized from Mexican composer, Armando Manzanero. Wayne wrote the English lyrics then sued Manzanero in a U.S. court, for plagiarism and won, forcing Manzanero to turn over all his profits from "It's Impossible," which Manzanero wrote twenty years earlier with the title, "Somos Novios." Mangos written with Dee Libbey, "Two Different Worlds" written with Al Frisch and "I Need Your Love Tonight" written with Bix Reichner.
