"How Deep Is Your Love" is a song recorded by the Bee Gees in 1977. Originally intended for Yvonne Elliman, it was ultimately used as part of the soundtrack to the film Saturday Night Fever. It was a number three hit in the UK. In the U.S., it topped the Billboard Hot 100 on 24 December 1977 and stayed in the Top 10 for a then-record 17 weeks. The song also spent six weeks atop the U.S. adult contemporary chart. The song was ranked #366 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Along with "Stayin' Alive", it is one of the group's two songs on the list. The song also lists at #20 on Billboard's All Time Top 100.[1] It was famously covered by Take That for their 1996 Greatest Hits album, reaching number one on the UK Singles Chart for three weeks. Barry Alan Crompton Gibb CBE (born 1 September 1946) is a singer, songwriter and producer. He was born in the Isle of Man, to English parents. With his brothers Robin and Maurice, he formed the Bee Gees, one of the most successful pop groups of all time. The trio got their start in Australia, and found their major success when they returned to England. He is known for his high-pitched falsetto singing voice. Gibb holds the record for consecutive Hot 100 Number Ones as a writer with 6. According to britishhitsongwriters.com he is the fourth most successful songwriter in U.K. singles chart history based on weeks that his compositions have spent on the chart (his brother Robin being the fifth).[1] Born Barry Alan Crompton Gibb to Barbara (née Pass) and Hugh Gibb in the Isle of Man. The second-born of five children, he has an older sister, Lesley (b. 1945), and three younger brothers, twins Maurice and Robin (b. 1949), and Andrew (b. 1958). In late 1958, his family moved to Brisbane, Australia, settling in one of the city's poorest suburbs, Cribb Island, which was subsequently obliterated to make way for Brisbane Airport.
