"Scar" won Best Pop Release at the 2004 ARIA Awards and was also nominated for Single of the Year, losing out to Jet's "Are You Gonna Be My Girl". In 2005, the song won two ARIA song writing awards for Song Of The Year and Breakthrough Song. With the success of the song, Higgins' personal life has been brought into the spotlight and rumours persist that "Scar" deals with her bisexuality. Missy Higgins (born Melissa Morrison Higgins on August 19; 1983) is an award-winning Australian singer-songwriter; best known for the hit singles Scar; The Special Two and Steer. Her second album; On a Clear Night; was released in April 2007.Higgins temporarily relocated to Los Angeles in August of 2007 to concentrate on the US market and further her career. Higgins second album; On a Clear Night; will be released in the US on February 28; 2008 with a tour in March to coincide with the release. Her stay in LA; which will last for at least the first half of 2008; is designed to get her music used in films and television shows. Higgins was not content with resting on her success in Australia; preferring to push for greater exposure overseas and reach a greater audience.
