"I Don't Know Why", (sometimes listed as "I Don't Know Why I Love You"), is a 1968 song by Stevie Wonder, from the album For Once in My Life. It also serves as B-Side for the 1969 hit My Cherie Amour. The song was recorded when Stevie was only 18 years old, and became a moderate hit single, together with "You Met Your Match", another song from the album. The Rolling Stones recorded a version on June 30, 1969, released on the Metamorphosis album in 1975. They were mixing the song when they learned that Brian Jones had died. During his early childhood he was active in his churchs choir.He also taught himself to play the harmonica and the drums; and had mastered both by age ten. Wonder also learned to play the bass during his early years at Motown. Motown founder Berry Gordy signed him at age 11; impressed by his many musical talents.
